The National Curriculum and Textbook Board develops and publishes school textbooks in Bangladesh. NCTB’s 2026 secondary textbook page lists বাংলা ভাষার ব্যাকরণ ও নির্মিতি for Classes 9–10. Because textbooks can be revised between academic years, students should treat the official year-specific NCTB page as the main source.

Which link should you use? If you are a current Class 9 or 10 student, open the official 2026 NCTB page first. Use the preserved PDF only when you specifically need the older copy or want extra grammar practice.

Download the Class 9–10 Bangla grammar textbook

The two links below serve different purposes. The official link leads to NCTB’s current textbook list, while the older PDF link preserves the external download destination included with this post.

Before downloading: The older file opens on an external download page. Confirm that the downloaded file is a PDF and do not install unrelated software or browser extensions. For the syllabus used in your school, follow your teacher and the current NCTB edition.

What you can learn from the book

A Class 9–10 grammar textbook builds the rules and usage skills needed for schoolwork, written communication and many competitive examinations. Chapter names and their order can change by edition, but study commonly centres on the following areas:

Language, sound and spelling

Review Bangla language basics, letters and sounds, spelling conventions and correct written forms.

Words and word formation

Understand parts of speech, roots, affixes, compound words and the ways words change in use.

Grammar and sentence structure

Study case, inflection, verbs, agreement, sentence formation, transformation and correction.

Applied language

Practise punctuation, idioms, proverbs, phrases, appropriate usage and composition-related skills.

Use the contents page in your own edition to confirm the exact chapters. This is especially important if your school is following a newly revised curriculum or assessment format.

How to study Bangla grammar effectively

Reading a rule once is rarely enough. A better approach is to connect each rule with examples, practise it without looking at the answer, and revisit mistakes after a short gap.

  1. Start with the rule: Read one small topic and rewrite the main rule in your own words.
  2. Study the examples: Notice why each example follows the rule and where exceptions appear.
  3. Practise actively: Solve textbook exercises and a small set of exam-style questions.
  4. Keep an error notebook: Record wrong answers, confusing spellings and rules you repeatedly forget.
  5. Review every week: Re-test old topics instead of studying only new chapters.

A simple seven-day revision plan

  1. Day 1: Sound, letters and spelling
  2. Day 2: Word classes and word formation
  3. Day 3: Affixes, compounds and related forms
  4. Day 4: Case, inflection and verbs
  5. Day 5: Sentences, transformation and correction
  6. Day 6: Idioms, proverbs, phrases and punctuation
  7. Day 7: Mixed practice and error review

Adjust the plan to the chapters in your edition. For school examinations, give priority to your teacher’s instructions, classwork and the latest assessment guidance.

Is this textbook useful for BCS and bank job exams?

Yes—as a foundation. Bangla grammar topics appear in many recruitment examinations, but the number, difficulty and topic distribution vary by exam and year. The textbook can strengthen core rules; it does not replace an exam-specific syllabus, official notice or previous-question practice.

After completing a textbook topic, match it with the relevant section of the BCS Preliminary syllabus and marks distribution. Then practise with the 1000 Bangla MCQs for BCS and bank exams. Beginners may also use the government job preparation guide to organise a broader routine.

Practical sequence: textbook rule → textbook exercise → previous questions → error review → timed practice. This sequence helps you understand the rule before trying to answer quickly.

Common questions

Is the older PDF the latest NCTB edition?

It should not be assumed to be the latest edition. It is the older PDF preserved from this post’s original download link. Use NCTB’s current academic-year page for the latest listed book.

What is the current official Class 9–10 Bangla grammar book?

NCTB’s 2026 secondary textbook page lists বাংলা ভাষার ব্যাকরণ ও নির্মিতি. The official page is the best place to confirm the current file and any later revision.

Can this book alone complete Bangla preparation for a job exam?

No single school textbook covers every exam need. Use it to learn grammar fundamentals, then follow the relevant official syllabus and practise previous questions and timed model tests.

Is Bangla grammar the same as Bangla First Paper?

No. Grammar and composition are language-use components, while Bangla First Paper generally focuses more on prescribed literature and related skills. Follow the subject structure used by your school and current curriculum.

Can I read the textbook on a mobile phone?

Yes. Most current browsers can open PDF files. For easier reading, save the file for offline use and use a PDF reader that supports search, bookmarks and zoom.
