Historical Arts Faculty DU question pattern

The preserved collection describes a commonly used MCQ format of 80 questions carrying 100 marks, with 1.25 marks for each question. It reports the following distribution:

SubjectQuestions
Bangla16
English16
Mathematics24
General knowledge18
Computer6
Total80 questions / 100 marks

Historical pattern only: the old collection reports no negative marking for these MCQ tests. That rule and the marks distribution must not be assumed for another recruitment. Follow the circular, admit card and exam-specific notice for the job ID you are applying to.

written question sets in this collection include tasks such as Bangla and English focus writing, Bangla-to-English and English-to-Bangla translation, written mathematics, business or formal letters, and summary writing. The exact combination and marks can differ by institution and post.

How to practise the written and MCQ papers

Separate each question set

Write the bank, post, year and stage at the top of your answer sheet. This prevents questions from different recruitments being treated as one fixed pattern.

Attempt before reviewing

Solve the MCQs or written tasks without notes. Use a timer that suits the question set and leave space to return to difficult questions.

Check the answer, not only the option

For mathematics, write the shortest valid method. For language and general knowledge, note why an answer is correct and update facts that have changed since 2018.

Build an error log

Group mistakes under Bangla, English, mathematics, general knowledge, computer and written composition. Revisit the weakest group before taking another full test.

  • Practise translation in both directions without translating word by word.
  • Use a clear introduction, organised arguments and a short conclusion for focus writing.
  • Review percentage, ratio, profit and loss, work and time, average and basic algebra for written mathematics.
  • Format business letters with the correct sender, recipient, subject, salutation and closing.
  • Verify current affairs and institution-specific facts from current reliable sources.

Where to verify current bank recruitment details

The Bankers’ Selection Committee Secretariat coordinates recruitment panels for participating government banks and financial institutions. For a current vacancy, job ID, examination date, syllabus, negative-marking rule, result or document requirement, rely on the recruitment-specific official notice.
