Eligibility and diploma disciplines

The circular invited applications from Bangladeshi citizens for 51 Sub-Assistant Engineer positions. Applicants needed a Diploma in Engineering in one of five disciplines: Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Power or Survey. Because the notice grouped the approved disciplines under one post, candidates had to ensure that the discipline shown on their diploma matched one of the subjects listed in the circular.

The Grade-10 salary scale was Tk 16,000–38,640 under the National Pay Scale 2015. The circular also stated that BADC service rules and applicable government rules would govern the appointment.

Age limit and other candidate conditions

Age was calculated on 14 December 2017. General candidates had to be between 18 and 30 years old. The upper age limit was 32 for children of freedom fighters or martyred freedom fighters and for candidates with physical disabilities. Grandchildren of freedom fighters or martyred freedom fighters remained within the 18–30 range stated in the notice. An affidavit was not accepted as proof of age.

• Orphanage residents and candidates with physical disabilities could apply from every district.
• Applicants working in government, semi-government or autonomous organizations had to apply through the proper authority within the deadline.
• The recruitment followed the applicable government quota policy.
• At the viva stage, candidates had to present original certificates and submit attested copies as instructed.
• False information, forged documents or unfair conduct could lead to cancellation of candidature and legal action.

How the 2017 BADC Teletalk application worked

1. Candidates completed the online form through the BADC Teletalk recruitment website between the opening and closing times stated in the circular.
2. The application required a colour photograph measuring 300 × 300 pixels and a signature measuring 300 × 80 pixels.
3. Before final submission, the applicant checked the entered information and then downloaded the Applicant’s Copy containing the User ID.
4. The Tk 1,000 examination fee had to be paid by two SMS messages from a Teletalk prepaid number within 72 hours of online submission.
5. The User ID and password were later required to download the admit card when the relevant notice became available.

The original post linked to the BADC Teletalk application and admit-card address. This historical endpoint should be used for a new recruitment only when a current BADC notice directs candidates to it.

BADC application fee payment by SMS

After submitting the online application, the candidate used the User ID shown on the Applicant’s Copy to complete the two-step fee payment from a Teletalk prepaid number.

Submitting the form alone did not complete the application. The circular required successful fee payment within the prescribed 72-hour period. Candidates were instructed to retain the Applicant’s Copy and the confirmation message for later use.

Selection process and BADC SAE exam preparation

The 2017 notice stated that eligible candidates would take a written examination and that only candidates who passed the written test would be called for the oral examination. It did not publish a subject-wise syllabus, question count, marks distribution or a named exam-conducting institution. Therefore, preparation for the BADC Sub-Assistant Engineer exam should combine the relevant diploma-engineering subjects with the instructions later issued through the admit card or examination notice.
